ENSAT
thrives on the unique challenges associated with special projects.
Our unique combination of consultants, engineers, construction professionals,
and construction trades-people enable ENSAT to perform a wide spectrum
of special projects. Our multilingual capabilities allow ENSAT to
perform in a wide range of geographic locations.
We have worked in virtually all major population centers in the
U.S. and several overseas countries. ENSAT's special projects
include unique design build construction projects with critically
short time completion requirements, unique work restrictions, and
complicated regulatory requirements.
The
Special Projects services that ENSAT provides are wide-ranging
and can include everything from subsurface construction to de-watering
treatment systems to allow for excavation, construction, demolition,
and tank installations. All special projects, however,
have the following unique characteristics:
- Unique
Environmental and Energy Systems: ENSAT excels in unique
design-build environmental and energy system projects. Our team
is goal oriented and committed to meeting the needs of the most
demanding clients. Our approach begins with the identification
of a client's needs and requirements and culminates only
when the client has full use of the specific services delivered
under each contract. ENSAT lead engineers, consultants and project
designers will remain with a project through the construction
or implementation phase to insure project continuity. Because
we have a strong internal construction component that must perform
fixed price construction, ENSAT has a strong institutional understanding
of efficiency and cost controls necessary to make a design- build
option the right choice for your business. Equally important to
these projects is the chemistry between the client and the ENSAT
project team. Our policy is to maintain continuity in our client
relationships by maintaining a single point of contact with the
client. This is always an individual the client feels comfortable
working with and has developed a business or professional relationship
with.
- Projects
with critically short time completion requirements: Whether
it's a last minute unforeseen condition or the structure
of the deal, projects with short completion time horizons happen.
Business transactions continue to get more complex and regulated
while time expectations for completing them continue to shorten
(i.e. ASAP). ENSAT specializes in these challenges and has a long
history of performance with tight time constraints. A significant
number of our clients first utilized our services because of our
demonstrated track record of meeting these challenges. In fact,
time compressed projects have become a staple of the ENSAT special
projects portfolio. ENSAT views these projects as a special management
challenge and we welcome this type of business. Our staff receives
continual training on how to respond to these challenges and has
grown to welcome them as a way to differentiate our firm in an
increasing competitive global business environment.

- Projects
with unique work restriction and requirements: Whether
your firm's primary business is lodging, healing, development,
or communications, your clients must be largely
unaffected by our activities at your site. In today's marketplace,
service interruptions that affect the end user are considered
absolutely unacceptable. Long gone are the days when a service
or site could be shut down while it is rebuilt, upgraded, investigated
or otherwise altered. The service and construction industry's
equivalent of "just in time inventory" is " no/minimal
impact service delivery". On many projects performed by ENSAT
the completion of the work task is secondary to the logistics
associated with minimizing this impact. While ENSAT considers
the minimization of this impact critical on all projects, it can
take on a special nature when working with un-interruptible systems
and in confined spaces in large buildings in heavily urbanized
areas. ENSAT's project history in this area is extensive
and we welcome any project which demonstrates our ability to be
neither seen nor heard during the delivery of our products and
or services.

- Projects
with complicated regulatory requirements: ENSAT's
senior management team has been working on projects involving
local, state, and federal regulatory agencies for fifteen years.
These projects include a wide range of regulatory interactions
including permitting waste and recycling facilities, negotiating
clean up standards and procedures, closure of sites once considered
contaminated, permitting construction projects on a national basis,
and authorization to use equipment not specifically permitted
by code. While many of our clients feel that any project involving
a regulatory agency is a "special project", we reserve
this designation for those projects where there is not a clear
and defined regulatory path to follow. These projects require
the manager to strike a delicate balance between the needs of
the regulator and the client.
- Projects
where the scope of work is unique and typically non-reoccurring:
ENSAT senior management and consulting team has been together
for over fifteen years. This continuity allows our team to be
especially effective on unique and complex projects where the
scope may not be fully defined or evaluated. These projects often
begin with one set of requirements, and then increase in complexity
and difficulty. The professional diversity of ENSAT's senior
team and the internal confidence within the group allow ENSAT
to shift gears from implementation to evaluation seamlessly and
efficiently. This is often a critical component of unique and
non-reoccurring projects where the task to be performed and essentially
all projects activities have to be created and evaluated for appropriateness
as they are planned and executed.
